Another worker reported dead at Foxconn unit plant.
LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) — Another worker at a Foxconn Technology Group facility fell to his death in southern China, state media reported Tuesday. The 18-year-old employee had begun work in June at a plant in the city of Foshan, operated by Foxconn affiliate Chimei Innolux Corp. , Xinhua news agency reported. He died after falling from the sixth floor of a workers’ dormitory early Tuesday morning, the report said. Taiwan’s Foxconn raised some wages at its plants after a spate of suicides at its mainland Chinese facilities prompted outcry over working conditions. The report said an investigation had been launched into the cause of death.
